Writing novels can be challenging. But it doesn’t need to be.

For the last ten years, I’ve investigated how our brains work with creative work. I’ve worked as a mentor, at the Writers’ Loft, and taught workshops and classes at conferences. I’ve discovered how to make writing novels easier, faster, and more fun.

I’ve figured out how to make novel writing a CAKEWALK!

I’m sharing what I’ve learned about writing novels to give you the mindset, knowledge, and resources to make writing your next novel painless and quick.

Does this sound like you:

I can’t seem to get to the end of the novel I’m drafting.

I get stumped while writing my novel and don’t know what comes next.

I go days thinking about my novel, without putting words onto the page.

I’ve been drafting and revising my novel for much longer than I expected.

What if you could write alongside other people drafting the same genre of novel as you, have a blueprint of what happens in each scene, and access a mentor and colleagues during the entire writing process?

What if writing was fun, fast, and effective? That’s the CakeWalk way.

Do you want to:

Take your baseline word count and double or triple it.

Write your novel alongside others writing in your genre. A REAL community.

Have accountability and support to get your daily word count done.

Have a recipe so you know exactly what needs to happen in each scene of your novel.

Inject genre icing into your novel to create satisfied fans, always craving more.

.

There are three types of issues that stall our writing or take away the joy.

During CakeWalk, you’ll figure out what works for you to create the best mindset for getting your words in for the day. For making writing and creating joyous again.

CakeWalk provides you with structure for your novel, using the four-act structure, but drilling down to the genre expectations for each chapter so you have a recipe for the book you want to write, to create rabid fans for your work. The accompanying icing packets dig deep into what fans LOVE about your genre.

When stumped, you can message your mentor and peers for in-the-moment brainstorming and whiteboarding.

The biggest resource I’ve heard writers talk about is time. In CakeWalk, we lean on peer attended writing sprints and other accountability to get your work done. Why do it alone? Writing in community makes sure you get those words written.

CakeWalk is a community of writers coming together to achieve a similar goal, together, along with recipes and icing packets of knowledge to help you craft your best novel, more fun, faster, and more effectively than you ever have before.

For six weeks, together, writers write with accountability, sprints, and the recipe for your own novel at your fingertips.

At the core, CakeWalk breaks down the to-do list for drafting a novel in simple, easy steps, and when you finish the first act, then the to-do lists for the second act drop in for you. You can message mentors and peers if you get stuck, and you’ll see how fast and fun writing novels can be when you have the mindset, knowledge, and resources at your fingertips!

The FIRST CakeWalk will launch November 1, 2023, although it’s best if you start a week early to set up your novel. That’s right, CakeWalk launches for NaNo 2023!
